On June 1st, Paul Green will host an extra-special Afternoon Garden Party at OLC to celebrate his 70th birthday.

During the 1st half, there’ll be lots of opportunities for Floorspots /Open Mic.

This will be followed by a mid-afternoon break, during which Gale Hadley and her team will serve up afternoon teas or sarnies to go with beer bought at the bar.

The event will finish with a set from supergroup Shake Me Up Sally (Sally Ironmonger & Brian Carter + Capella: Mike & Lesly Petty) starting at 5 p.m., preceded by a short set from support act Spring Chickens.

If you plan to attend, some idea of catering numbers and any special dietary issues would be helpful.

No birthday gifts will be accepted, and cringeworthy speeches are not allowed.

However, there will be a voluntary hat collection in CASH, with proceeds split between Paul’s costs & charities of his choice.

The OLC bar is for CARD Payments only.

Fingers crossed for glorious weather… but if not, the event will still happen in the Club’s Hall.

The Club has a significant number of plastic garden chairs. Some of them look grubby ..it’s ingrained & shouldn’t come off ..if you’d like to bring your own fold-up garden /picnic chairs, that will be welcome so long as they’re of a design which won’t sink into the grass.
