DESCRIPTION:On June 1st\, Paul Green will host an extra-special Afternoon G
 arden Party at OLC to celebrate his 70th birthday.\n\nDuring the 1st half\
 , there'll be lots of opportunities for Floorspots /Open Mic.\n\nThis will
  be followed by a mid-afternoon break\, during which Gale Hadley and her t
 eam will serve up afternoon teas or sarnies to go with beer bought at the 
 bar.\n\nThe event will finish with a set from supergroup Shake Me Up Sally
  (Sally Ironmonger &amp\; Brian Carter + Capella: Mike &amp\; Lesly Petty)
  starting at 5 p.m.\, preceded by a short set from support act Spring Chic
 kens.\n\nIf you plan to attend\, some idea of catering numbers and any spe
 cial dietary issues would be helpful.\n\nNo birthday gifts will be accepte
 d\, and cringeworthy speeches are not allowed.\n\nHowever\, there will be 
 a voluntary hat collection in CASH\, with proceeds split between Paul's co
 sts &amp\; charities of his choice.\n\nThe OLC bar is for CARD Payments on
 ly.\n\nFingers crossed for glorious weather... but if not\, the event will
  still happen in the Club's Hall.\n\nThe Club has a significant number of 
 plastic garden chairs. Some of them look grubby ..it's ingrained &amp\; sh
 ouldn't come off ..if you'd like to bring your own fold-up garden /picnic 
 chairs\, that will be welcome so long as they're of a design which won't s
 ink into the grass.
