Event Type

In what promises to be a cracking evening of class music, Orpington Liberal Club welcomes Richard Rozze and his group.

Richard (guitars and vocals) will showcase songs from his critically acclaimed album, Lion, with Steve Bridgland on bass and Wez Johnson on drums.

His electric guitar playing embraces blues, rock, and jazz, with intelligent, uplifting songwriting at its core. He has been compared to guitarists as wide-ranging as Peter Green, Eric Johnson, and Wes Montgomery, and his voice echoes Nick Drake and Jackson Browne.

Richard’s songwriting is ”full of the longing and pathos of the blues; songs that mirror the human condition with music that fuses rock aggression, jazz sensibilities, beautiful sounds and sheer musical invention.”

We’ve heard Richard’s excellent acoustic guitar playing with folk Trio Open Water, so it’s time to sample another side of his considerable talents as an electric guitarist.

Floorspots to kick off the proceedings with the guests coming on to play their 1st set at around 8.15 pm. Contributions from singers, musicians & poets are all welcome.
Please arrive early if you’d like to do a turn.
