For those who knew her, Folk Singer and Morris Dancer Linda Smith’s wake is at Orpington Liberal Club this coming Saturday, 18th May, from Noon to 6 pm. Linda and partner Alan often sang here, raised their tankards and entertained us.

‘Hi all. This is Kate, Linda Smiths daughter. Please accept my apologies for using this place to chat, but it’s probably the best way to let everyone know. As you all know, my mum passed away on the 2nd of March following a long and complicated journey of poor health. Her wishes are to have a private cremation and no funeral. She would like all her friends and family to celebrate her life with music and song. She doesn’t want any flowers or fuss and would like people to come with their instruments and microphones and wonderful voices to entertain us all on her way out.

Please all come and make this final occasion for her a lovely celebration.
