Impressed

When

Tuesday 7 April 2026
7:30pm - 10:30pm

Event Type

Impressed perform sea songs, including shanties & also more reflective or humorous songs, both from the tradition and from contemporary sources. They sing a cappella as well as accompanied by a variety of instruments, and are noted for their rousing chorus songs, inviting audience participation.

Roger Resch (vocals & accordion) is an organiser of Tonbridge Folk Club. He is a near legendary figure on the Kent/Sussex folk circuit playing bookings individually & with Bob Kenward as the “Wealden Ramblers”.

Liz Randall (vocals, accordion, concertina, autoharp & whistle) is a long-term performer in ensembles around the Kent/Sussex folk scene & also guests at East Anglian maritime festivals.

We start the evening with floorspots, followed by 2 sets of around 45 min each from the guests & there will be a mid-evening break taken at around 9.

If you’d like to perform, please come early & flag up your intentions on arrival to avoid disappointment. We’re open to poets in addition to singers, musicians, and, of course, an audience. There’ll be a small PA on hand with mics & leads, for plugin & play, if required.

A hat collection in CASH goes to the guests, with a suggested minimum contribution of £6 per head. Please give more if you can afford it, they are first class acts.

The CAMRA award-winning bar & club will be open from 6.15 pm. CARD payments only. It’s free entry to Club & CAMRA card carrying members & £1 to others payable at the bar.
