Following on from the success of Andy’s initial Sat afternoon songwriting workshop in the OLC Hall in November, by popular demand, we’ve invited him back for a follow up session on Jan 3rd.
If you didn’t manage to get to the 1st one don’t worry. These sessions have been designed with newcomers & beginners in mind as well seasoned songsmiths. So there will be something for everyone.
Andy will show you what he’s learned from writing 200 songs, recording 8 albums, having Mike Scott of The Waterboys just turn up at a gig after hearing his song ‘Whiskey Priest’ and much much more… We will analyse song structure and harmony and collaborate attempting to write hit songs.
Bring yourself together with pen & paper. If you play one, a musical instrument and maybe a music stand.
If you’ve got a couple of songs you’re working on and would like to share and discuss with the group, that would be great but it’s not compulsory.
Free entry to OLC and CAMRA members, with a £1 charge to others payable at the bar.
In addition there will be a voluntary CASH hat collection for Andy with a suggested minimum contribution of £5
The OLC premises and CAMRA award-winning bar will be open from 12.30pm. The bar is CARD payment only.
