Jack Warshaw & Steve Suffet

When

Friday 17 April 2026
7:30pm - 10:30pm

Event Type

Veteran New York folk singer STEVE SUFFET has been active on the Big Apple music scene since the 1960s, rubbing shoulders with many of the greats. He is a self-proclaimed ‘Old Fashioned Singer’ with a keen sense of humour & fascination for NY City Districts, which he regularly walks. Expect many famous old-time songs done his way mixed in with more contemporary numbers & some of his own compositions.

For Steve’s 2026 visit to OLC, he will again be sharing the bill with friend, legendary folksinger, songwriter & musician JACK WARSHAW. A fellow New York folkie Jack has lived in the UK for many years, working as an architect & teaming up with folk luminaries including Ewan McColl, Peggy Seeger, Rob Sherman & Tom Paley. Jack is best known for his 1976 protest song “If They Come in the Morning,” aka “No Time for Love.” made famous by Christy Moore.

We start the evening with floor spots, from singers, musicians, poets. Steve and Marilyn Suffet’s UK trips are inspired by their love of folk music from the British Isles & always include visits to Cecil Sharp House. With this in mind, we welcome floorspots from performers of tradition British Isles folk as well as Americana.

The CAMRA award-winning club bar (CARD Payments only) will be open from 5.30pm.

It’s free entry to OLC club members & £1 to others. There will be a hat collection for the guests in CASH. The suggested minimum contribution is £6, but please give more if you can afford it.
