Event Type

The second of OLC’s Tuesday Evening Summer Garden Gigs for 2024 will feature a set from the superb BORDER CROSSING, a duo combining the talents of Dean Tanio and John Matthews. It’s not to be missed!!

John Matthews is an ex-pat Scot & long-time Kent resident. A fine unaccompanied singer in the folk tradition.

Dean Tanio, another established Kent folk musician with routes just south of the Scottish border, adds his voice & accomplished guitar playing.

The sum total is a succession of delightful arrangements of traditional & contemporary folk songs with plenty of opportunities to join in with the choruses.

Border Crossing will play their set at 8 p.m. or shortly after.

We start with floorspots from 6.45 p.m. Singers, musicians, and poets are all welcome. If you’d like to do a turn, please come early and flag up your intentions on arrival to avoid disappointment.

There’ll be a small PA with mics & leads for plugin & play.

The hat collection is in CASH for the guests, with a suggested contribution of £6 per head minimum. Please give more if you can afford it. It all goes to the guests, who are a class act.

The CAMRA award-winning bar will be open from 18.15 on Its CARD payments only.
It’s Free entry to the premises for OLC Club members, with Non-Members paying £1.
In the Garden, we must finish by 9 to comply with the club’s licensing conditions. If it’s necessary to move the event into the hall due to poor weather, we will start a little later & may continue until just before 10.
