Andy Smythe is a South London based singer-songwriter,band leader & songwriting workshop host, He is renowned for his soaring four-octave voice, poetic lyrics, and a distinctive retro-folk rock sound.

Drawing inspiration from legends like John Lennon, Bob Dylan & Jeff Buckley, the long time OLC favourite crafts songs which explore the human condition with emotional depth & melodic richness.

His music blends intricate acoustic arrangements with thoughtful storytelling, performed both solo & also alongside his talented bandmates Les Elvin (bass) Jimmy Van Lin (mandolin & fiddle) & Oleg Katchinski (drums).

In support there’s a mid-evening showcase from singer, guitarist & OLC regular Barry Ewing (ex Swans) who is both a songwriter & also a fine interpreter of songs, with a distinctive rhythmic & soulful sound.

From 7.30 pm until 8.15 pm, we’re open to floorspots before Andy & his pals come on for the first of their two sets. Singers, musicians, & poets are all welcome. Time is limited, but we’ll try to squeeze in as many as possible. Please be ready when called & keep it short & sweet.

A hat collection in CASH goes in its entirety to the guests. The suggested minimum contribution is £7, but please give a little more if you can afford it.

The club premises & CAMRA award-winning bar will be open on the day from 5.30 pm. – card payments only.

Free entry to OLC/CAMRA members & £1 to non-members payable at the bar.
