Winter Ales Week 5th-14th December

Don’t miss our Winter Ales Week from Friday 5th December to Sunday 14th December.

Normal opening times; eight interesting Winter Ales on the bar:

  • Portobello – White City Winter Warmer 4.5% A warming winter copper ale brewed with a complex malt base and English and American hops. Expect citrus fruit aromas, bittersweet malt body and a clean, dry finish.
  • Brentwood – Santa’s Blotto 4.5% A jolly good stout with notes of dark chocolate and coffee.
  • New River – Ten of Herts IPA 4.8% A special batch of generously dry-hopped, bright, deep golden West Coast IPA; this beer has powerful aromas of citrus and tropical fruit, perfectly balanced by rich amber malt flavours.
  • Island Brewery – Vectis Venom 4.8% Easy drinking because of its deceptive character and darkness of colour, with an underlying smoothness that enables it to penetrate and deliver its potion in the most satisfying of ways, malt and hops personified.
  • Milton – Nero Black Stout 5.0% A satisfying, full-flavoured black brew with a good balance of malt, roast and fruit.  Bittersweet flavours carry through to a dry finish.
  • Marlix – Video Nasty Cinder Toffee Stout 5.0% Crunchie bars in beer form. Dark and rich stout flavour, creaminess from lactose and a sweet, honeycomb undertone from loads of finest cinder toffee.
  • Elephant School – Legend of Red Beard 5.5% Red IPA. A bold fusion of caramel malt depth and vibrant hop punch. Red/auburn in colour, with aromas of grapefruit, pine, and berries over a backbone of toasted toffee and biscuit. Full-flavoured yet balanced, finishing dry with a lingering citrus bitterness.
  • Three Acre – Christmas Old Ale 5.6% A fireside beer like no other. Our dark, festive special is brewed with seven grains, bringing earthy flavours of roasted chestnut, and a touch of pine from all-English hops.
