Pauline Llewellyn & friends + Neil Fairweather
Tuesday June 8 @ 6:45 pm - 8:45 pm
This week we have 2 featured acts with Celtic connections who have been impressing everyone with their performances at our Zoom lockdown sessions.
Pauline Llewellyn grew up in Swansea & has close affections for her Welsh Roots while at the same time a naturalized Kentish Lady living in New Ash Green. She is a fan of Americana, folk & alt-country singer-songwriters. She has been taking advantage of the lockdown by working to further improve her guitar techniques & growing in confidence as a mouth harp. Pauline will be joined for part of her set by her friend Manny on guitar & vocals.
In support will be a showcase set from Neil Fairweather, a Scot who in recent years has been a Gravesend resident & will be making his OLC debut. Neil has been wowing us online with his guitar playing, vocals & repertoire of traditional & contemporary folk music + popular covers with a choice of material that often reflects his Scottish roots.
The format is 2 featured sets of around 30 minutes each from local performers with floor spots welcome to start the evening & subject to demand, we’ll also aim to fit in extra slots in between the 2 featured sets…if you wish to perform please come early or flag up your intentions in advance to avoid disappointment…we’re open to poets & storytellers in addition to singers & musicians ..& of course, an audience.
The bar will be open from 18.15 & we aim to start the music by 19.00 hrs at the very latest
Due to licensing conditions, we have to finish & be clear of the garden by 21.00 hrs at the very latest, but subject to space, you’ll be able to continue drinking inside for a little bit longer if you wish.
It’s free entry for OLC Club members, with Non-Member Guests paying a £1 charge for the use of facilities.
There will be a hat collection in cash for the performers.
The bar service is cards only with the expectation you’ll buy a drink. The prices are very reasonable & there’s always a great selection of well kept CAMRA award-winning Real Ales & Craft Ciders available. The club also sells a range of other drinks, including low & non-alcoholic together with bar snack.
