We start August with a Saturday Guest + Open Gazebo Afternoon in the Garden.
To comply with social distancing requirements our basic capacity is limited to an audience of 20 single people..So if you wish to attend it’s recommended you message us to reserve a place in advance to avoid disappointment. Entrance is £5 plus £1 extra temporary membership charge if you are not a member of Orpington Liberal Club .
This afternoon program will feature two sets from Paul Brown who is a fine guitarist, superb entertainer + keyboard & trumpet player as well. He has a big repertoire of classic pop songs from the 50’s 60’s & 70’s through to current chart hits. Paul’s high octane sets are always thoughtfully put together with surprises & smiles in good measure…Foot tapping, singing along & getting up for a dance will all be on the agenda.
In support we’ll have a mid-afternoon support set from guitarist & singer Pauline Llewellyn with her mixture of self penned song & covers featuring a mix of North American alt-country & popular songs We’ll kick off the afternoon with Open Gazebo session & welcoming floor singers, musicians,poets & short stories.
The session is acoustic with no PA or mains electric available. Its essentially unplugged however buskers style battery amps with line in &/or mic in are permissible. Set up time is limited.
Our basic safe seating arrangement (starts 6 metres from the Gazebo & 2 metres apart) accommodates only 20 single people. If you are attending with others in the same social bubble we may be able to fit in a few extra. The official guidelines for singing along out loud is to wear a mask or be 20 foot away from everyone else there’s space at the bottom of the garden amongst the trees.
Enter through the bar area & complete a form giving your personal details for test & trace & sanitise your hands on entry. Please also buy a drink from the bar even if it’s just bottled water & also pay your £1 temporary membership if required. The bar is currently cashless so its card payments only. £5 garden entrance money in cash. We recommend sampling the cask ale & cider selections which are CAMRA award winning.
