Evening Open Gazebo

Tuesday September 22 @ 7:15 pm - 8:45 pm

We’re hosting a live outdoor session with music, songs, poems, comedy and very short stories on Tuesday Evenings.

There’ll be a Gazebo in the Orpington Liberal Club Garden. Chairs will be provided but you will be welcome to bring your own provided it’s of a type which won’t dig into the lawn.

We take it in turns to get up & sit or stand in the Gazebo to perform. The session is acoustic with no PA or mains electric available. It’s essentially unplugged however buskers style battery amps with line in &/or mic in are permissible. Set up time is limited.

Our basic safe seating arrangement (starts 6 metres from the Gazebo & 2 metres apart) accommodates only 20 people. If you are attending with others in the same social bubble we may be able to fit in a few extra. Please let us know in advance if you plan to come so we won’t be overwhelmed & have to turn you away. Offers of help on the night will be very welcome.

If you are going to sing along we regret you need to wear a mask or be 20 foot away from everyone else. There’s space at the bottom of the garden amongst the trees.

The club bar opens at 19.00 hrs & we’ll aim to start the music by 19.30. Enter through the bar area & complete a form giving your personal details for test & trace & sanitise your hands on entry. Please also buy a drink from the bar even if it’s just bottled water. payments card only. We recommend sampling the cask ale & cider selections which is CAMRA award winning.

The finish time is 20.50. We must be finished & pack-up by 21.00 hrs with no noise outside after that to comply with licensing restrictions. The club bar closes at 21.30. You need to exit via the garden path at the side of the hall.

They’ll be a hat collection & the recommended contribution is £5 each… all the take goes to the Liberal Clubs maintenance appeal..Non Club members must pay a £1 a head minimum temporary membership charge by card at the bar.

This is not an Orpington Folk & Blues or Grand Ole Orpy Event. We’re hoping to welcome the team back to take over running Tues Night Music events at the club before too long. & audience all welcome.
