This Ale Mail is being sent to you from a chilly Norfolk where my car has been sat in a garage all week… but still the beer is flowing at OLC.
In two weeks we’ll all be enjoying ourselves at the Beer and Cider Festival. The list gets more confirmed every day. Don’t forget you must pre book. There is no entry charge, you do however need to buy a ticket to cover the cost of your first couple of pints. You will also need to pay a deposit for a glass on the day. All details are on the Beer and Cider Festival web page.
On the bar now we’ve got:
Box Steam Chuffin Ale 4.0% – Full flavoured bitter, chestnut brown in colour with a fruity and smooth rich taste. Fuggles hops. Wiltshire. £2.40
Siren Driftwood. Medium bodied dark mild with a roasted flavour and a bitter finish. 4.3%. £2.70. Berkshire.
Surrey Hills Shere Drop. Pale in colour with a subtle hint of grapefruit and lemon in the aroma. The wonderful hop bitterness is complemented by a balanced malt flavour. The beer has a long finish, which is moderately dry. 4.2%. £2.70. Dorking. LocAle.
Exeter Lighterman. Despite its low strength this ale is full of flavour and has character beyond its ABV. Medium golden amber in colour, it has a well balanced flavour enhanced with lots of English Goldings hops. 3.6% £2.40. Devon.
